It was a while ago, but I’ve mentioned before how much I love these art dolls. In a nice little piece on the etsy blog this week, artist Sarah Faber of Black-eyed Suzie is shown talking about her art and a little bit into her inspiration.

I want one even more after seeing this :)

Blackeyedsuzie‘s style was influenced by her love for Gothic novels, Victorian and Elizabethan costumes and Dame Darcy’s comic Meat Cake. Her dolls are infused with the same elongated, wide-eyed traits as the characters of Edward Gorey {love Edward Gorey!} and Tim Burton. However, Sarah’s dolls have their own style: Victorian beauties with a dark side — card sharks, bourbon drinkers, albinos and vampires…

He’s right, but even from this short preview I don’t hate this new Doctor, in fact I kind of liked him straight away – I’m surprised! I really really liked Christopher Eccleston and when he regenerated I could not imagine that David Tennant would ever grow on me… too skinny, too comic looking. He was fantastic! Tom Baker will always be the ‘real’ Doctor to me but Tennant has been my favourite by far.

This video gave me such a laugh, and then a little bit of a cry thinking about the rubbish they put on “current affairs” programs on commercial television stations in Australia…

One program that makes me actually angry to think about is Today Tonight – I guess the real problem is the people that watch it thinking that sensationalist rubbish about supermarket pricing, diets, immigration exposés, (telephone company exposés, centrelink exposés, blah blah) and cheap fashion shopping is actual factual news.

I’ve been thinking for some time of ditching Safari in favour of Google Chrome and this video has me wanting to do it now. Besides being a fun promo, the fact that in Chrome a crashed tab wont crash the whole browser and google’s claims of faster speeds had me downloading and installing.

I’ve always really liked Safari but after a few days (I don’t shut down my laptop & often have multiple tabs left open, the same ones for days at a stretch) it’s seems to clog up almost, grinds to a halt and becomes maddeningly slow taking up to a minute to open a new tab. I don’t want to change the way I work, so on to Chrome.

Watch the whole video, it’s pretty cool :)
