I honestly couldn’t tell you whether I’m planning on downloading this app because it looks useful or because judging by the video I think the graphics are going to be really nice :)

I’ll have lots of photos of my weekend away to share soon, I’m still sorting through all 720 of them, plus some on phone, 3 rolls of film, and 1 video (sadly consisting of blurry vision and my voice declaring I’ve never taken video with my camera before and asking how to start recording… :).

As a graphic designer and a sometime embroiderer I really appreciate the skill behind Jillian Tamaki’s work on these. I love them, they’re beautiful.

Apologies for the flash, but I just had to share this illustration I found on odosketch, a website that allows you to create and save sketches, and also view the ‘making of’ sketches from others.

Watching how someone else has created an illustration, the different style and techniques, is something else. It’s hypnotic, adictive, take a look!

Sophie Blackall is an Australian artist living and working in New York. I just love her blog Missed Connections where she takes missed connections postings from various websites and turns them into very sweet works of art.

Even better, she has an Etsy shop where the originals are available.

I got this item listing does not exist page last night after following an incorrect link – I don’t know if etsy is updating their error messages, but I haven’t seen this before. It’s so cute! Very sweet :)

I haven’t had much time in front of my laptop to post everything I’ve wanted to in the past couple of weeks, I really do wish the WordPress app for iPhone was more flexible and robust.

Never mind :-) I’m going to try to be less neglectful this week and see how I go – and fingers crossed for more knitting motivation.

I was happy to find Issue 4 of UPPERCASE in my mailbox last week, even though I regularly buy other magazines this is the first that I’ve subscribed to… I must admit that was mostly due to the Issue 1 cover design. I wanted this magazine and it took me so long to get it, instead of subscribing directly from them in Canada I went through their one and only Australian stockist – six months later I see Issue 3!

Enough complaining :) This issues cover was designed by San Franciscan illustrator Leigh Wells, her work is a fine example of those times I feel sadly jealous that I am not a talented illustrator.

I was sitting here admiring this ink & gauche illustration by Julia Rothman when I realised she is the designer of the Daydream Wallpaper I still want on one my walls so much! Does loving two pieces now make me a fan? I think so :)

Anyone that knows me will know that I love beautiful illustrations, beautiful paper, and just about anything letterpress printed, so the new Bespoke Letterpress Illustrators Project in right down my alley. Cristophers Ears is definitely my favourite from the illustrations shown at the moment… but Honey In Sunshine is a close runner-up.

The Illustrators Project is a great opportunity for emerging artists to see their work printed beautifully and available for everyone to see and purchase, I once again wish that I was a professional illustrator and remember my drawing class is on tonight :)

I was in contact with Alischa from Bespoke earlier in the year, I so wanted to have my business cards printed by her and she sent me some lovely samples so  I could see the quality of the paper and printing. I’ll be keeping a closer eye on the shop from now on.

I am sorely tempted to dismantle this book and hang the beautiful illustrations on my wall. I’d love a print of the front cover in the very least, on the look out now :)
