I have discovered my absolute dream wall decorations!

If you follow me on pinterest you’ll know that one of my largest walls is Decorated Walls – I’m finding almost daily decorations that I’d more than happily hang or attach on my walls, but this modular hanging system from ixxi seriously takes the cake, so many exciting possibilities.

I’ve been so wrapped up in some of the books I’m reading on my trips to and from work that I completely forgot about keeping up to date with Martha Stewart Living on my iPad.

I sound like a paid cheerleader, but it truly is such a well designed digital magazine with beautiful styling that everytime I open and edition I want to work there… or at least spend my days doing something similar and not quite so commercial :)

I wanted to share some more from pinterest, these are all from my Interiors Board. I’m thinking a lot about furnishings lately because in a couple of weeks we will be moving to a brand new house about 45min outside of Brisbane, and even though I wont be able to touch the paint I’m definitely in decorating mode!

I would be hard pressed to choose between these two as an alternative to the more traditional welcome mat… ok, I’d probably end up with Shut The Front Door :) Cheeky but fun.

I’m so disappointed this pottery pig has already sold! I receive the Etsy email every day but only rarely do I see an item I absolutely have to buy.

Ever since I picked up a tea towel at the Masterpieces from Paris exhibition in January I’ve felt like starting a collection… I know, this could be sending me into pretty daggy territory, but it could be fun finding designs I like :) So many artists are seeing the fun in the tea towel as a canvas and taking the opportunity to get some fantastic designs out there.

ToDryFor.com is a collection of tea towels from various textile designers (via swissmiss), and as soon as I find it again I’ll share the link to some amazing japanese dish cloths.

These bud vases are from the collection of American potter Frances Palmer. I enjoy the simplicity of her more mass produced pieces and the freedom to choose from her colour range for each piece, but :) if it wasn’t a colour day for me I’d be posting about how much I love the quirky asymmetrical details of her hand made pieces (take a look through all of her vases, they’re fantastic).

Today I feel like surrounding myself with colour. I feel like sewing, making things with my hands, I even feel like baking.

I started a bit of a sewing session last night which ended this morning and produced a curtain for John’s kitchen and a pile of cushions for the couch. I just love the piglet fabric from etsuko furuya, I have a bit left so I’m thinking of how to make best use of it.

There are a couple more little bits I want to sew but right now it’s time to check out the new Doctor (apparently he’s brilliant!) and catch up on a some knitting.

Pretty paper lampshade found on loja de estar, I love the pattern combined with the ribbon tie. The choice for hanging or table top lamp structure is really helpful, I’ve found that’s an option not usually available and one that I usually wish for :)
