sweets

I decided that I would make some easter treats for both of our families this year rather than picking up commercial chocolate eggs, so I’ve been having some fun baking this week. I’ve whipped up a Pecan Slice, Pecan and Choc Chunk Biscuits, and some chocolate dipped Macaroons. Most of that went into the post today… some might have accidentally been left behind ;)

Tomorrow it’s time for Buttermilk Cookies and maybe some Oatmeal and Walnut Biscuits… something with Oatmeal in any case. I do feel like making some Brutti ma Buoni or some Mexican Wedding Cakes, but they can wait for a few weeks.

flowers

Scritti Politti – “Absolute” pic disc side1, originally uploaded by Geoff_B.

This makes me want to make funny little paper weights by setting flowers in resin.

the impossible project

What good news for Polaroid lovers with the new Impossible instant film! The results achieved by Heather Champ have ignited my interest in instant photography a bit, but at the moment I’m happy to appreciate the successful shots of others.

braille cube

Color Rubik Cube For The Blind

Rubik’s Cube in braille… I can’t believe the makers of the original cube haven’t made this already. A fantastic and functional idea that looks so much better than the colourful original.

pea coats

Karen Walker – Turquoise Wool Peacoat

Kate Gilbert – Sweet Pea Coat pattern (I’d make this at a less awkward length)

Teva Durham – New Pea Coat pattern

Sarah Hatton (for Rowan) – Patti

It seemed like a good evening to start a list of winter clothes I like, especially ones I want to make. I have wanted to knit Patti for so long, I can see it’s been in my Ravelry queue since August 2007!

My list for jumpers is about this length, and my list of cardigans about double. I know I said this at the beginning of Summer and then did nothing about it, but I really should start my Winter knitting a season in advance… Oh & I still have a soft spot for this guy.
