the fourth plinth

This is fantastic!

The empty Fourth Plinth (from 1841 till 1999) in Trafalgar Square, London, is in the process of housing 2 400 living monuments in the project One & Other by Antony Gormley. Every hour for 100 days straight a new volunteer will be raised onto the plinth where they can do whatever they want… predictably I’d knit, but you can protest your favourite cause, dance around in a panda suit while talking to your mates on your mobile, or just sit down & people watch (these have happened already :).

I’m looking at the live stream right now and there’s a older gentlemen standing up there, all decked out, playing a piano accordion :) From what I’ve read there also seems to be an large number of people just waiting for the first person to jump up there & strip off haha
