• the different cameras living at my place
  • A photographer I admire, chomdee, takes the most amazing photos with a Seagull TLR – I’ve wanted to play with a TLR for a while now & deciding on a Seagull as my next dream camera has a lot to do with the results I’ve seen on flickr.

I use my holga for everyday pictures of things I find interesting, she lives in my handbag, reserving my old digital for close ups of knitting, for other items I’m making (any time I want immediate results) and general snapshots. Also living with me is John’s digital, I like it for better quality photos of everything except for close ups.

I plan on returning the Bronica to it’s owner this week. I’ve only ever shot one roll of b&w with it, & I had some film loading… issues :) so I had no idea if any of the pictures would turn out. It’s way too heavy to carry around out of it’s case, but it was still fun to use. This is one of the five images I got out of that roll & it’s how I hoped it would look – so, yay! :)

I’m a bit of a hoarder so sitting in a shoe box in my “office” (I never do any work in there) I have an old Kodak 35mm I picked up about 16/17 years ago. Looking at it reminds me of how I dreamt in high school of developing my own photographs in a dark room.

I wont throw it out even though I can’t remember the last time I took it out of it’s shoe box home or even had 35mm film in the house. The film winding is automatic which limits the possibilities, but I’m tempted to see if I can pull out some of the internals to try to extend the image over the sproket holes… I imagine that’s sounds ridiculous to anyone that knows better – will the size of the lens allow the picture to extend if I remove the plastic film guide?

No idea but I’ll probably give it a go, pulling bits out of it might have unexpected interesting results so I don’t mind trying.

Must be a small camera to fit in a shoe box, just like when we were little.

We went out in the rain once, must say it hurt.
